A Devotee’s Strange Experience – 3

After the delivery of her third daughter, as is the custom in Kerala, Vinitha wanted to take her daughter to Guruvayoor for annaprashan (feeding first morsel of rice).
Unfortunately, that day it started raining heavily and many of her family members dropped out of the trip due to this reason. As she had already prayed that she would do it on that particular day, Vinitha proceeded to Guruvayoor.
Added to the inconvenience of heavy rain, the temple that particular day was heavily crowded. Vinitha did not know how to go inside the temple that too carrying a small baby.
She cried and prayed ‘Kanna, I came all the way to see you. But now I am unable to enter your sanctum sanctorum. What should I do?’
The Seeveli puja (4.30 to 5pm) was going on. It is time when Guruvayurappan would be taken around the temple on the elephant three times.

How can she go inside the temple and meet her Unni Kanna with so much of crowd pushing her and that too with her small child.
Those of you who have visited Guruvayoor would know that next to the flag post, there would be two or three big deepams on one side and on the other side there would be a big brass bowl filled with Manjadikuru. Devotees believe that Unni Kanna plays in this Manjadikuru bowl. Hence they buy the seeds and add to the bowl. Some put coins and play with them imitating Krishna’s play. Parents of small children leave them in this bowl to play with the seeds.
Those of you who have visited Guruvayoor would know that next to the flag post, there would be two or three big deepams on one side and on the other side there would be a big brass bowl filled with Manjadikuru. Vinitha was standing near the lamps trying to peek into the temple to have a glimpse of her Kanna. Wondering what to do she looked around ...
Her disappointment on not able to see her Kanna turned into wonder and astonishment…
Can you imagine why???
Near the Manjadikuru bowl she could see Krishna in his full form, just like how He is in the sanctum sanctorum, standing, blessing her.
Imagine her joy!!!
Can He send back His beloved devotee without His darshan.
She cried a lot thanking Kanna for His blessing.
What else can we ask and say? When Bhagawan Himself comes out of the sanctum sanctorum to give darshan to His devotee.

One of Vinitha’s hobby is to draw and paint pictures. She often paints pictures of Guruvayoorappa and sells them. Whatever the earning she keeps aside a part of it and offers it in the hundi when she visits Guruvayoor.
Once a learned astrologer told her ‘you have painted so many Krishna’s painting, but you have never ever donated one to the temple. And hence Krishna is upset with you’.
Vinitha realised her mistake and within the next few days drew and painted a big picture of Krishna.

She along with her husband went to Guruvayoor to present it but as usual she found that there was a lot of crowd.
She did not know what to do. Her husband had gone to park the car and Vinitha was standing at the threshold of the outer door waiting for him.
Suddenly one person came to her and asked what she was holding. As it was a big picture which was packed securely he could not see the painting.
Vinitha replied that it was a picture of Krishna that she drew and wanted offer it to Krishna.
He simply said ‘why you are waiting here then, go inside. You can go directly into the sanctum sanctorum without any restriction’.
Vinitha could not wait for her husband anymore and rushed into the temple to see her Unni Kanna and offer Him her present.
When one has Kanna’s blessing, do we need to hesitate and wonder how that work would be done.
Trust Him and He takes care of everything.
Kalpana’s vision:
Once Kalpana could see a house and realised it could be Vinitha’s
Next time when Vinitha spoke to her she asked Vinitha..
‘Do you live in an independent two storeyed house? And is your house surrounded by paddy fields? On one side of the house is the parapet wall made from the leaves of coconut?’
Wondering what all this is about Vinitha said ‘Yes chechi. But how do you know?, the parapet wall is made of two layers one with coconut leaves and other with bricks and concrete’
Smiling to herself, Kalpana went ahead and asked ‘is there some kind of work going on in your house?’
Vinitha was more shocked…
Kalpana could see the feet of two or three people going here and there and they were a little dirty.
Vinitha clarified indeed there was some floor laying work going on at her house and that there were four workers who were walking around the house.
Vinitha then asked Kalpana ‘can you see me Chechi?’
Kalpana replied in affirmative and started describing Vinitha.
Vinitha is on the thinner side with thin face, cheeks not very chubby, the prominent feature on her face being her nose. Kalpana went on to describe her skin colour as well as her hairstyle.
Vinitha was so wonder stuck, within a few minutes shared her picture with Kalpana Now it was Kalpana’s turn to be shocked.

Although a small group we have people all over the world sharing their blessings and their stories with us.
We are waiting for the day, when He would reveal the purpose of bringing us all together as well as who Kalpana is.
It is a mystery we are waiting to be revealed.
