Kalpana and Importance of Prayers
Episode - 43
We have heard and seen so many miracles with Sri. Viswapathi’s vratams.
Click here for the various vratams written by Sri. Viswapathi.
Most of the devotees do or read them frequently. I for one read the vratams every day depending on the God and day.
Many devotees have experienced positive changes in their lives after performing them. We are not only talking about Sri Venkateswara Vratha Kalpam but also the other nine vratams written by Sri. Viswapathi. Some experiences which Kalpana shared after advising those who requested for her help….
Recently a person contacted and sent a message saying that he is on the verge of suicide. The reason being he was unable to get a job from a long time, was depressed and repeated thoughts of suicide come to his mind.
Suicide is not a solution to any of the problems. Krishna says ‘if we have to overcome the cycle of birth and death we have to clear our karma in this birth rather than carry it to another birth by committing suicide’.

Kalpana advised him to read the stories of Sri Krishna Vratam. After a week the devotee sent her a message conveying his gratitude. What he said surprised her. He said ‘As advised by you Sister, I completed reading the five stories in the vratam and the next day I got a call from a friend in Hyderabad informing me of a job opportunity. I have applied and am waiting for the job offer. This is nothing but a miracle as I had not received any response from any of my previous applications’.
Around 3 to 4 months back, one of Kalpana’s friend approached her and said that one small child was affected by cancer and her family was suffering a lot as they don’t know what to do. Kalpana naturally was very upset. After praying to Krishna, she asked her friend to tell that particular family to read the five stories of Sri Venkateswara vratam every day. Although they never read about Sri Venkateswara vratam they followed the advice and started reading the vratam every day. A few days later the lady called Kalpana and told her that the child was doing much better now and her health had improved considerably.
We need to understand the power of belief and trust. Any circumstances can be reversed if we keep our faith in Bhagawan and follow His path.

Deepu, was very worried about his eldest daughter who is around 6 years. The child developed swelling on her neck and it was increasing in size. Doctors prescribed antibiotics for nearly 20 days, but there was no significant improvement. They indicated that the child needs surgery. In response to his message Kalpana asked Unni Kanna what needs to be done. A voice told her to inform him that there is no need for surgery and that he should offer sugar to Krishna every day and the same should be consumed by the child. From the time he started doing it, they found some difference in the status of the swelling and doctors have drained out the pus which had accumulated and she is on the path of recovery.
Talking about another devotee, a friend of Kalpana told her that one of her Christian friends who got married recently brought his wife to UAE. A few days after her arrival she fell sick and started vomiting blood. Doctors did all some tests and told that there was a problem with her kidney. A few more tests later and they changed their diagnosis and said something else was wrong, which naturally made them scared. When Kalpana heard this she asked the couple to chant Mother Mary prayer with the Rosary. The couple were very worried as the young lady had lost all her appetite and was still vomiting blood. With a lot of concern, they planned to go back to Kerala and was about to book the tickets. Kalpana too prayed for the well-being of the lady. The day they were supposed to leave Kalpana received a call from the devotee informing that there was some sort of miracle happened. The pain and vomiting had stopped completely and the lady was able to eat food and retain it.

Midhil visits Kalpana on a regular basis as he is a firm believer in Krishna and his leelas. He was to get married in Jan 2017. The match was finalised but there was a glitch – where should the wedding be performed?
The bride’s side preferred to perform it in their family temple of Devi maa.
However Midhil was insistent that he wanted to get married in Guruvayor.
When he asked Kalpana what he should do. Her reply was ‘Krishna wants you to marry in Guruvayoor’. There was a lot of communication ultimately it came to a standstill when both parties stuck to their own preferences. One night the bride got a dream that the marriage was not going to happen and that it would cancelled. She was very scared and informed her father. She asserted that she only wants to marry Midhil. With no other choice, the bride’s father agreed to perform the wedding at Guruvayoor.

Unlike the other South Indian states, marriages that are performed in Guruvayur temple is just a 10 minute procedure. Outside the temple towards the East Nada there are one or two small stages/ pandals. Around 20 to 30 people can stand around them. Only the immediate family members of the bride and groom attend this stage of the wedding. All other rituals are conducted either at home or in the marriage hall for which all other guests are invited.
The day for the wedding was finalised which happened to be a very auspicious day. And a large number of weddings were scheduled on that day. Midhil informed the families that they should reach the temple by 6AM in order to avoid the rush. Both the families were upset and shouted at him saying that they have to complete all the rituals at home and then only proceed to the temple. A visibly upset Midhil prayed to Unni Kanna to help him. Naturally, on the day of wedding it took a long time to complete all the required rituals and the families could reach the temple only by 9AM.
Everyone who came were shocked on reaching the temple….
Why???
The pandal was empty and the priest was sitting idle. Now when more than 200 to 250 weddings were expected to be conducted on that day in Guruvayoor, how could the pandal be so empty and with the priest idle. It was if he was waiting for them to come?

They quickly went to him and completed the wedding rituals. When they finished and looked around, Midhil could see a serpentine queue of couples waiting to get married.
Oh Krishna!!! How you make things easy for those who believe in you and pray to you. They then went to the temple to take the blessings of Unni Kanna.
Midhil was very keen on Kalpana attending the wedding, however it was not feasible for her. 3 to 4 days after the wedding, Midhil went to Guruvayoor temple and stood in the queue for the darshan of his beloved Unni Kanna’s. His wish to see Kalpana was very strong and he requested Krishna to show Kalpana to him.
But how can it happen??

She was in her house in UAE. And he was in Guruvayoor.
Suddenly he saw a lady in front of him (all alone with no family). He thought he was seeing Kalpana herself. The way she dressed, the way she walked … a replica of Kalpana. He wanted to rush towards her to talk to her, however she quickly walked and disappeared into the crowd. Midhil was quite sure it was none other than Kalpana that he saw.
Unni Kanna!!! Did you fulfil your devotee’s wish by taking Your Amma’s form???
