Three Generations of Blessed Devotees - Devi Priya - 3
Episode - 62
When Bhagawan wants to bless His beloved devotee, He will do so in any form – Krishna, Durga, Subramanya Swamy or Venkatachalapathi. As I said in the previous episode, Devi Priya has abundant blessings of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.
Last year just before her daughter’s birthday she asked Bhagwan to bless the child and offered raisins as naivedyam. One of the raisin was half eaten showing acceptance of her wish.
Also once or twice the regular raisins she offers as naivedyam took the shape of a heart when offered.

Many a time Bhagawan guides her through different dreams.
On one occasion, she was guided by Sri. Chaganti Koteswara Rao to do a particular puja for Sri Venkateswara Swamy. He explained the whole process of what needs to be done.
In reality she has never ever met Sri Koteswara Rao, but see the miracle, a few times he has guided her in dreams.
After this particular dream, on a regular basis, she started performing abhisekham to Lord Venkateswara.
Interestingly, in the next dream she was told by another person to include turmeric rice (akshata) for abhisekham.

Until she met that person along with me she did not know who it was.
Can you guess who could it be???
Anil….
Remember Anil and myself met this family last November. After meeting us, she called me and informed that she had already seen Anil in one of her dreams but did not know who he was.
In fact it is fascinating to know the abhisekham process that she follows:
• Milk
• Yoghurt
• Honey
• Haldi paste
• Sandal wood paste
• Pearls
• Turmeric rice

Whenever she performs Sri Krishna vratam she draws a rangoli with rice flour, haldi powder and vermillion. Once she drew a lotus in the centre with shank and charka on either side (representing Sri Venkateswara Swamy).
The next day morning when she went to clean the puja room…
She saw…
On the rangoli had changed slightly with Kaliya mardhana represented on it.
The imprint if looked at carefully shows a serpent with a hood about to enter into a pond. And a small foot print of Unni Kanna.
She left the rangoli without disturbing it.
However, by the next morning the foot print changed to show a Kadamba tree with yellow flowers (turmeric). It was as if Kanna was about to jump into the pond to destroy Kaliya serpent.

Readers need to understand all these miracles have been happening only from the last 2 to 3 months on a continuous basis.
Each day a different miracle, a different experience and a different guidance….
One morning she saw Sri Venkateshwara in the form of Madhava with His club pointing downwards and a climber of ridge gourd with yellow flowers next to Him.
She did not understand the significance of neither the dream nor the ridge gourd flowers.

Do any one know what it means???
Without a clue on what Bhagwan is indicating the mother and daughter took out all the vratam books as well as the other religious books and searched for some sign.
Nothing.
They went through them once, twice, thrice…
With no answer they bundled the books back into the bag which they use to store.
After a few minutes, they found a book titled ‘Kartika Pournami’ on the table.
Krishna Dasi was very sure she had kept all the books back in the bag. And then how did this book come back on to the table???
What does it indicate??
So they went through the book to find an answer.
But again they found nothing which would answer the doubts they had.
Is it something related to Kartika Pournami. Do they need to do the same vratam now? Do they need to light lamps what is it they have to do???
With no answer they waited for the divine guidance.
Will it be far behind???
Exactly!!!
The following day….
They received ‘Sapthagiri’ a monthly magazine published by TTD (This is published in six languages namely Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Tamil and Kannada and can be subscribed on TTD website).
Whilst going through the magazine they were shocked to see the same picture of Lord Madhava. Quickly with a lot of curiosity they searched through the articles and found ‘Dhanur Masa vratam’ (a vratam that is performed in the month of Dhanur)

Note:
The month Margasirsha or Margazhi or Dhanurmasam promotes spirituality among the people. According to Solar calendar, this period becomes Dhanurmasam. Goda devi chose this month as appropriate to fulfil her divine desire. She imitated the Kathayayani Vratha of Gopikas, for one month. Each day, Aandal composed one song and submitted at the Lotus feet of the Lord. Thus, she offered thirty songs in the form of a wonderful garland to Lord. These thirty Tamil paasurams are called “Thiruppaavai”. At the end of the Vratham, Sri. Ranganatha appeared to Vishnu Chittha and ordered him to give Aandal in marriage. Lord sent a palanquin to bring Goda Devi. Worship of Lord Vishnu during the morning hours in Dhanurmasa is considered highly auspicious. Vishnu Sahasranama and Tiruppavai is chanted during the period.

During this month Telugu speaking people (Andhra and Telangana) make big rangolis early in the morning in front of their houses. Every day they place fresh cow dung balls (in odd numbers) on the rangoli and decorate these balls with turmeric, vermillion and flowers. In the rural areas they are mostly decorated with yellow flowers especially ridge gourd flowers. These are called Gobbemallu. On the Sankranti day, women and children sing and dance around these Gobbemallu.
Can we connect and understand the significance of the dream - yellow flowers next to Lord Madhava.
As per my understanding Krishna Dasi family do not have roots in Andhra but are originally from Orissa and hence they do not follow many of the rituals that the Telugu families follow.
However Lord wants them to do something He guides them in some form or other.
Understanding the divine guidance, she performed the vratam continuously for 6 days by following all the rituals along with reading Tiruppavai.
One of the requirements to do this vratam is the offering of ridge gourd flowers which are yellow in colour.
Hence Devi Priya was unhappy as she could not procure the ridge gourd flowers.
Now when Bhagawan Himself has guided her, will He not make provision??
The last day of the vratam she miraculously got the flowers and could satisfactorily offer to her Lord.
