Episode 120
Kalpana’s Kerala visit – 2
After reading last week’s episode some devotees asked me the recipe for Kalpana’s Shakkara payasam so that they can offer during Navratri.
Here it is…
Rice - one handful, jaggery - one big block, ghee -1tsp, cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp.
Firstly cook the rice well, then add the jaggery, ghee and cardamom powder. When it is of thick consistency switch off the flame. Shakkara payasam is ready to be offered as Neivedyam to Devi Maa.
In continuation of her experiences…
Once while doing the Shuba Durga vratam, Kalpana asked Chittu "Unni Amma!!! Are you happy? Will you show your happiness?". Suddenly, she saw a small leg in front of her, like that of a small child. She was wearing green silk long skirt with gold print all over. She then saw a small child sitting in front of her and eating the neivedyam she offered.

She then called Mrs. Purna to verify who she saw was Chittu or not. Although Kanna lives with her and shows so many miracles, like all of us she also gets doubts sometimes. When she was talking to Mrs. Purna she could hear sound of bangles.
Kalpana says, many a time while doing pooja on Friday she can feel the presence of Devi Maa observing her.
On one Friday, she saw Devi Maa in peetambaram colour (rust or deep orange colour) plain cotton saree with long, thick and curly hair.

Two weeks back Kalpana, did the Shuba Durga vratam.
She offered dosa and chutney as Maha neivedyam. When she tasted the chutney after the pooja it was very spicy, however, when she ate the same for dinner she found it to be sweet. Her husband and children did not feel any difference in the taste and it was still spicy for them.
Devi Maa leela… made the spicy chutney to sweet one just for Kalpana.

In the trip that I spoke about in last episode, they also visited Ameda Nagaraja temple which is famously known for Nagadeva temple.
It is located on the banks of Vembanad Lake, in Tripunithura - Vaikom route, 20Kms south of Ernakulam.
The sanctum sanctorum is dedicated to Sapthamathrukkal, viz: Veerabhadran, Ganapathy, Brahmani, Maheshwari, Kowmari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Indrani and Chamundi.
The shrines dedicated to Nagaraja and Nagayakshi are located North West and North East respectively. .

Aditya could see Naga deva and Yaskhi (female Naga) coming out and blessing them.
The Nagams were glowing brightly with lot of ornaments. They came out of the temple stood in front of them, looking at her for a few minutes and went back into the temple.
The priest was conducting puja and Kalpana could hear loud thunder, lighting and had a feeling that it was raining heavily.
After having the annadanam, when they came to the car, she enquired with the driver if it is was a very heavy rain.

To her shock the driver replied that there was no thunder, lightning but only light rain. She asked him if he was sleeping the whole time when they were in the temple.
He looked at her in surprise and said ‘no, I was roaming around the temple premises and I did not sleep at all’. Surprised Kalpana and her children looked at each other.

Onam 2019:
A few days before Onam, whilst preparing the breakfast, she could feel the presence of Kanna in her kitchen, standing slightly inside the kitchen door, a teenage boy eagerly waiting for the breakfast His mother was preparing.

On Onam day, as usual Kalpana made Sadhya for Kanna and he was very happy eating the food prepared by His favourite mother.
For breakfast she offered Idli and chutney.
When the Naivedyam was offered, on the Idli she found small finger prints on it and also a part of the Idli broken and small pieces thrown on the plate. Exactly like how small children eat their food.
It was a blessed Onam for her and her family.
